Introduction

In June 2000, EURO-JICs, an international neutral, non-profit organisation of JIC (Joint Industry Committees) and MOC (Media Owned Companies) was launched.

One of the main purposes of EURO-JICs is the harmonisation of all Internet research at a European level in order to provide the marketplace with comparable, pan-European data on Internet use.

All 7 participating countries agreed on an Internet questionnaire to be included in their National Readership Survey or equivalent source. A copy of the questionnaire can be found at the end of this publication.

This third edition contains the results of these harmonisation efforts. Full comparability of the available data has almost been achieved.

This brochure also deals with figures of non-member countries which kindly responded to the EURO-JICs request to provide their data, derived from comparable sources.
